OCTOBER 5th - 11th

Cooking in Provence

Join Matt Caputo on a culinary adventure actually in Provence. We will tour many of the best wineries of the Southern Rhone, visit what has been awarded the best cheese shop in France, meet with Joel Durande, one of France’s most famous chocolatiers and much more.

You will dine at three specially selected French restaurants in the Vaucluse region of the Provence. Each Chef who hosted you for dinner will come to our spacious and professional kitchen to demonstrate his/her skills and you will be invited to assist with the preparation. Become a chocolate snob in two hours; no cooking involved. We will be sampling and discussing some of the world's most innovative and respected chocolates. AUGUST 21th

Quick & Healthy Mediterranean Meals

The Spanish region of Andalusia, the island of Crete in Greece and the island of Sardinia in Italy, have perfected healthy and simple culinary traditions. Sardinia, in particular, has the world’s highest concentration of centagenarians (persons of 100 years, or older). We will explore each area through fresh, flavorful and easy to prepare recipes.  Includes a full meal and $5 gift certificate. Class: $40, Wine: $15

Focused Tasting: Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar

Forget everything you think you know about EVOO & Balsamic Vinegar. Did you know Extra Virgin standards are not enforced in the U.S.? After this class you will not need to rely on anything but your own taste to select the right product for each specific use (cooking, salads, condiments, etc.). Do not miss this class, we only do it twice a year. Includes $5 gift certificate. Class: $25

SEPTEMBER 11th

Advanced Chocolate Tasting w/ Matt Caputo & Chris Blue

Discuss and sample the latest discoveries in the world of chocolate. Attendees will help decide which of these many prospects Caputo’s should stock! Caputo’s chocolate class veterans only, please. ABSOLUTELY NO BEGINNERS!!! Chris Blue is flying in from Berkley to join the discussion, talk about his new chocolates of the season and answer questions. SEPTEMBER 18th

Focused Tasting: Cheese & Beer Pairing

Contrary to popular belief, oftentimes cheeses pair better with beer than with wine. The way raw milk Farmhouse English Cheddar along with Squatter’s Pale Ale is just the beginning of this fantastic voyage. Matt has done a load of research for this one, so don’t miss out. Fresh Pasta & Wild Mushrooms

Focused Tasting: The Divine Swine & Wine Pairing

The first part of the class will be dedicated to cured hams like the renowned Iberian Ham from Spain and the many famous prosciutti from Italy. The second part of the class will be taught by master salami maker, Cristiano Creminelli, whose family has been awarded best salami maker in all of Piedmont, Italy. As Cristiano teaches you all things salami, Francis Fecteau of Libation will guide your tastings of fine swine and wine. You can trust Francis’ experience in this matter is second to none. November is Cheese Month: All three classes in November are dedicated to cheese. Each week will cover a different country. Take all three and consider yourself well versed in the full flavored cheeses of Southern Europe.

NOVEMBER 13th

Focused Tasting: Spanish Cheese & Wine

With almost 30 Spanish cheeses, our selection is certainly the largest in Utah. Imagine breeds of sheep and goats so specialized to their mountainous environment that their viscous milk is practically milk when it comes out of the animal! The wines are just as unforgettable. NOVEMBER 20th

Focused Tasting: French Cheese & Wine

Explore France's vast array of small format farmstead cheeses. You will be sure to find many surprises with our recently expanded selection of airship cheeses from France's most respected cheese artisans. NOVEMBER 27th

Focused Tasting: Italian Cheese & Wine

The grand finale. No other country can offer the variety of Italy. We carry over 70 Italian cheeses at Caputo's. Dozens of them are small format, fresh airship cheeses good enough to make a French cheese snob defect to Italy. Includes a $5 cheese gift certificate. Class: $25, Wine Pairing: $15

DECEMBER 4th

Focused Tasting: "The Shelves"

Taste Matt’s favorite artisan confections, condiments, honeys, antipasti and more from our store shelves. Learn how to incorporate them into your family gatherings. Although these items don’t get as much attention as cheeses, meats, chocolates, etc., they often have romantic stories and unique flavors.
